It is apparent that

Niall Bracken derives great satisfaction from his investigations of what he calls that mysterious logic of patterns in nature formed from anordered chaos by laws unknown: a combination of happenings which we call "chance". His endeavours to capture the strange splendour of these configurations, usually in oils or mixed media on canvas, result in paintings of real beauty. There are hints of Jackson Pollock and Sean Scully in this current work.
